The NFL Draft is finally over and Quarterback Shedeur Sanders finally got drafted in the 5th round as the 144th pick by the Cleveland Browns. It could be a blessing in disguise because Sanders has the ample opportunity win the starting job at Quarterback. Obviously there is Deshaun Watson, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel of Oregon, Kenny Pickett and now Shedeur Sanders on the roster so there is no excuse for Shedeur Sanders to be the starter potentially opening day for Week 1 of the 2025 NFL season.
Shedeur Sanders will have to earn the starting quarterback job because the job will not be handed him so only time will tell. Other standouts from the Draft was Quarterback Quinn Ewers of Texas being drafted in the 7th round by the Miami Dolphins. In the 4th round, Running Back Cam Skattebo of Arizona State was drafted by the New York Giants who could be the heir apparent to replace Running Back Saquon Barkley. There were possible steals of the draft that was could possibly come to pass such as the Los Angeles Chargers drafting Tight End Oronde Gadsden II of Syracuse in the 5th round. The Pittsburgh Steelers may have the right Quarterback when they drafted Quarterback Will Howard of Ohio State in the 6th round.
In The NBA Playoff landscape, the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder are showing why they are possibly on a collision course to meet each other in the NBA Finals. Both teams swept their respective opponents in the Miami Heat and the Memphis Grizzlies. The Cleveland Cavaliers will be challenged by the Indiana
Pacers who eliminated the Milwaukee Bucks.
The Boston Celtics eliminated the Orlando Magic and the New York Knicks eliminated the Detroit Pistons so now the second round matchup is all set as the Celtics vs Knicks will face each other so the Celtics should be the favorite because they are defending champion. The Celtics should win in 6 games.

The Cavaliers should win in 7 games against the Pacers. The Denver Nuggets should win Game 7 at home against the Los Angeles Clippers. The Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Los Angeles Lakers in 5 games led by Rudy Gobert scoring 27 points including 24 rebounds was the catalyst in Game 5 to send the Lakers home as the Luka Doncic/LeBron James experiment failed.
The Timberwolves will be awaiting the opponent whether it is the Golden State Warriors or the Houston Rockets where the Warriors will try to eliminate the Rockets in 6 currently up 3-2. In other NBA news Head Coach Gregg Popovich retired as the Head Coach of the San Antonio Spurs ending an era of being the gold standard of NBA coaches for 29 seasons including winning 5 NBA championships.
Popovich led the Spurs to a winning record in each of his first 22 seasons as Head Coach. The San Antonio Spurs was always looked at as boring led by The Big Fundamental Tim Duncan, David Robinson, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili and Bruce Bowen and company played defense represented substance over style and still won a plethora of NBA championships. Overall there may never be another Gregg Popovich such as coaching a team for 29 seasons, Steve Kerr of the Golden State Warriors may challenge that abundance of seasons coaching one team only time will tell.
