The NBA Finals between the Indiana Pacers vs Oklahoma City Thunder is now narrows down to a Game 7. There is nothing like a Game 7 and what looked like on paper as a foregone conclusion for Oklahoma City Thunder to win by a cakewalk but the Indiana Pacers has tied the series of the NBA Finals at 3-3.
In Game 5 the Thunder was able to win by score of 120-109. Jalen Williams was a huge catalyst scoring 40 points with a plethora of moves like fadeaway jumpers, scoring on dunks,3-point shots etc. Shai Gilgeous Alexander scored 31 points so this dynamic duo combined for 71 points. Tyrese Haliburton of the Indiana Pacers suffered an injury which was a lower leg injury but despite that trailing by 18 points, TJ McConnell provided a spark scoring 18 points but the Pacers fell short putting themselves on a brink of elimination. In Game 6 of the NBA Finals, the Pacers was able dominate the majority of the game winning by score of 108-91 led by Pascal Siakam scoring 28 points including great bench production from Obi Toppin scoring 20 points and TJ McConnell scored 12 points.
Now Game 7 will be on Sunday June 22nd between the Pacers and the Thunder. There is great news for the Thunder because home teams in Game 7s in the NBA Finals is 15-4. The Thunder should win because they know how to bounce back from a loss. The pressure is on the Thunder because they had the best record at 68-14 including the League MVP Shai Gilgeous Alexander so see how they respond in a Game 7 atmosphere.
For The Pacers there is no pressure because they are on the road also they are great on the road in the postseason so this Game 7 should be close and down to the wire. Overall Oklahoma City Thunder win the NBA championship in Game 7. Moving forward if the Thunder win, then next on the menu could the Oklahoma City Thunder beat the next dynasty in the NBA only time will tell.
The 1985 NBA Finals was the 40th Anniversary of the Los Angeles Lakers finally beat the Boston Celtics:4-2 in 6 games. It was redemption for Magic Johnson who made bad decisions in clutch situations in key moments in the previous NBA Finals in 1984. Kareem Abdul Jabbar had the fountain of youth by winning the MVP. Following the Game 1 loss to the Celtics on Memorial Day which was became the Memorial Day Massacre because of the score of 148-114. Then in Game 2,Kareem Abdul Jabbar bounced back with 30 points,17 rebounds,3 blocks and 8 assists. The Lakers won 109-102. In Game 3,the Lakers won 136-111 which was led by James Worthy who had 29 points. In Game 4,the Celtics won a buzzer beater when Dennis Johnson nailed a jumper who had 27 points winning by score of 107-105 to tie the series at 2-2.
In Game 5 and 6,the Lakers was able to win these games 120-111 at home in Game 5 led by Kareem Abdul Jabbar scoring 36 points and Magic Johnson dished out 17 assists. Then in Game 6 the Lakers won at the Boston Garden winning by score of 111-100. Kareem Abdul Jabbar scored 29 points and James Worthy scored 28 points. The Lakers became the first road team to win a NBA title at the Boston Garden.
