*SPOILERS AHEAD
The latest episode of Alien Earth was a rollercoaster of mystery, tension, and unexpected character turns. If there’s one thing that stood out above all else, it’s this: we here at the network love flashbacks. They weren’t just sprinkled in; they became the backbone of this week’s storytelling, peeling away layers of Morrow’s past while also reframing everything we thought we knew about him.
From the beginning of the series, many fans speculated: was Morrow actually human, or did he have synthetic origins? His calculating demeanor, cold decision-making, and almost too-perfect survival instincts made the case for him being a machine in disguise. This week’s episode leaned into that suspicion with a series of cleverly cut flashbacks—scenes that seemed to confirm his unnatural resilience—before pulling the rug out and reminding us that his humanity may actually be what makes him the most dangerous figure of all.
The standout moments, however, came not from Morrow but from the ever-mysterious eye creature. For the first time, we saw the being’s actions framed less like random chaos and more like deliberate intent. When it intervened in the lab, was it protecting the specimen… or protecting the humans from something even worse? The ambiguity is brilliant, and the episode dared to ask the question fans have been whispering online: was the eye creature really trying to help?
As for what comes next, the closing moments gave us our clearest path forward yet. The uneasy alliance forming between Slightly and Hermit, coupled with Morrow’s growing instability, sets the stage for fractures within the human group. And with Wendy’s storyline brushing up against the aliens in ways no one else dares, it’s clear she’ll be the focal point of next week’s conflict.
In short, this episode did what Alien Earth does best: blur the line between ally and enemy, human and machine, chaos and order. With the flashbacks filling in just enough of Morrow’s puzzle while introducing even more questions, we’re headed into the next installment with tension at its peak. Let's just continue the straight A's for this series through 5 episodes.
